The Walled Lake Cobras Water Polo team was established in 2006 and is led by Head Coach Sean Collins and Assistant Coach Clair Bartosic. The team is made up of students from the Huron Valley and Walled Lake Consolidated School Districts, which includes International Academy, Lakeland, Milford, Walled Lake Central, Walled Lake Northern and Walled Lake Western High Schools. In 2017 the US Water Polo Association began allowing 8th graders to participate in practices to learn the fundamentals of the game before entering high school. They participate in the games by observing, recording stats and assisting the coaches and players as needed.
Men’s water polo is played in the fall from August to November. The Cobras have practices and play home games at Walled Lake Central High School. At this time, Cobras Water Polo is a club sport and not part of the Huron Valley or Walled Lake Consolidated School District Athletic Departments. However, players can still earn varsity letters, scholar athlete patches, etc. just like a school varsity sport.
We would love to share the fast and exciting game of water polo with you! Join us for a home game! See our calendar for our upcoming matches!
